Meet Itzi Robles

Itzi Robles  began serving her community at the age of 16, volunteering as a Sunday school teacher for children in her neighborhood. Driven by her love for community and a desire to improve her neighborhood for her younger siblings, she joined the board of SEFCEDA, a nonprofit organization in Southeast Fresno focused on economic prosperity. As the youngest person on the board, she believed that the voice of a young student impacted by the disadvantages of her community was desperately needed.

She is a graduate of Edison High School, where she met her husband. Pursued higher education at Fresno State, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and a Certificate in Legal Studies. During her college years, she worked for the Fresno County Office of Education’s Migrant Education Center, helping to organize the first regional Education Fair at Fresno State. Additionally, she spent her evenings as a 4th grade After School Program teacher in Biola with the California Teaching Fellows Foundation and as an English and Language Arts tutor for rural migrant students through the Education & Leadership Foundation. Her passion for teaching also led her to work as a Taekwondo instructor in Southeast Fresno and as a Dance and Cheer coach for young children at Romain Park in Central Fresno.

Itzi is married to Ezekiel Arredondo, a Pharmacy Technician for Valley Children’s Hospital. Together, they have two children: a three-year-old son and a one-year-old daughter.

Upon graduating from Fresno State in 2015, Itzi embarked on a career in local politics, assisting in the election of the first Latino physician to the State Assembly, Dr. Joaquin Arambula. She then worked for local city government, supporting the only Latina elected to City Council at that time, former Fresno Councilmember and now Assemblymember Esmeralda Soria by leading the District Young Councilmember Program and connecting the public to city resources.

Itzi earned her M.B.A. in Public Administration and currently works for a California State Assembly office for the 31st district as a District Representative, organizing community resource fairs, assisting residents with state-related issues, and leading the office internship program.

In 2022, she was elected Vice Chair of the Fresno Economic Opportunities Commission (EOC). While serving on the Board of Directors, she contributed to various program boards, including Head Start 0-5, Sanctuary & Youth Services, Fresno EOC School of Unlimited Learning (SOUL), and Finance. She now serves on the board of Dailey Charter Elementary School, chartered under Fresno Unified School District, and Access Plus Capital, an organization focused on eliminating barriers to capital for aspiring minority business owners in the Central Valley. She graduated as part of the first cohort of the Central Valley Latino Leadership Academy and was nominated as part of the 40 Under 40 Class of 2023.
